A Woodville man that pleaded guilty to stabbing a Port Arthur police officer has been sentenced
to seven years in prison. As part of a plea agreement, Judge Raquel West sentenced Joal Riley
for the 2016 stabbing of Jerry Daws. Riley was involved in a relationship with Kelly Daws, the
estranged wife of Jerry Daws. Prosecutors says Kelly Daws asked Riley to get rid of her
husband. She is set for trial next month.
