Man Sentenced To 10 Years For A Shooting

A southeast Texas man is on his way to prison for an aggravated assault. 40-year old

James Viltz Thomas has been sentenced to 10 years for a December shooting in the

parking lot of the Raceway gas station on Memorial Drive in Port Arthur. Thomas was

involved in a physical altercation with a man, then went to his vehicle and retrieved a

AR-15 and shot Jerry Hernandez in the arm. A jury sentenced Thomas and fined him

$10,000.
