Two Beaumont 17-year olds have been charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon. Devonta
Tyrone Stoker and Anhtony Deshone Smith, along with two 16-year olds and a 13-year old
were in a car that was pulled over Tuesday afternoon leaving Academy Sporting Goods on
Eastex Freeway. Inside the vehicle, officers located five handguns, magazines, and ammunition.
Several of the items had been stolen. Police believe this group is responsible for numerous
auto burglaries across the city. Citizens are reminded to remain vigilant, lock your vehicles,
and remove all valuable items.
