Eight First Responders Honored

Eight first responders were honored by the City of Groves yesterday for their efforts in rescuing a 12-year-old quadriplegic boy from a burning house this past May. Josh Hidalgo and Darron Marsh were also given Medals of Valor for their bravery in the line of duty, after they went into the house to rescue the boy. The firefighters turned off their radios in order to better hear the boy's cries for help, and were unaware that the roof of the burning home was about to collapse. They were able to make it out just in time.
