Honduran Sentenced For Hardin County Shooting

A Honduran national has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for a Hardin

County shooting. In November of last year, 42-year old Santos Alfredo Paz-Ruiz was

confronted by an off-duty law enforcement officer for driving erratically.  Paz-Ruiz pulled

a gun and fired a shot. Paz-Ruiz was tackled by the officer’s son and during a struggle the

officer’s son was shot in the ankle. Yesterday, Paz-Ruiz was sentenced to 33 months in

federal prison.
