A man that forced his way into a Jefferson County home in an attempt to rob a couple is
hospitalized in critical condition. It happened last night in the 1200 block of 4th Street in
Nome. The victim told deputies he was forced inside his home by a man at gunpoint. The
suspect held a man and woman and gunpoint demanding money and phones. The male victim
and suspect engaged in a fight while the woman called 9-1-1. The suspect cut himself by
jumping out a window of the home. Deputies found him bleeding excessively by some nearby
tracks. The investigation continues.
