The DPS reports a Pearland man was killed this morning in a two vehicle wreck on I-10
west in Jefferson County . The victim ran into the back of an 18-wheeler near mile marker
838. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt. The
wreck has forced I-10 west in the area to be closed. Traffic is being diverted onto FM 365.
Motorists are asked to use Highways 90 or 124 as alternate routes. It is not known when the
interstate will reopen.
