A public hearing is set for today at the Beaumont City Hall to discuss the upcoming fiscal year
budget. The proposed budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by
$385,000 or 0.76% and of that amount just over $481,000 is tax revenue to be raised from new
property added to the tax roll this year. The current tax of 71 cents center per $100 assessed
valuation is proposed to remain the same. Today’s public hearing is at 1:30.
