A public hearing is set for today at the Beaumont City Hall to discuss the upcoming fiscal year

budget. The proposed budget  will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by

$385,000 or 0.76% and of that amount just over $481,000 is tax revenue to be raised from new

property added to the tax roll this year. The current tax of 71 cents center per $100 assessed

valuation is proposed to remain the same. Today’s public hearing is at 1:30.
