Jefferson County has issued beach advisories for Sea Rim State Park and McFadden Beach.
Water samples collected at both locations were found to have a elevated levels of the
Enterococcus bacteria. Anything of 104 colonies is considered to be unsafe. The levels
collected on Wednesday surpassed that amount. Lamar University will continue and test
this water and bases up their results, further advisories will be issued as necessary.
