Beaumont police are investigating an aggravated robbery in which shots were fired. A
man robbed the Smiles convenience store in the 6800 block of College Street yesterday.
A customer witnessing the robbery went to his car, retrieved a gun, and shot through the
window store towards the robber. The robber fired shots back towards the customer. The
suspect took money and cigars from the store and fled. A K-9 tracked officers to the Park
Shadow Apartments on Pinchback Road. They were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone
