Three men are in the Newton County Jail following their arrest Tuesday night. Deputies were
called of a burglary in progress at the Newton County Correctional Center, previously named
the Fillyaw Correctional Center. The suspects left the center pulling lowboy trailers. The three
were arrested by Newton Police on Highway 87 heading towards Burkeville. 39-year old Peter
Wood of Cypress, 41- year old Gregory Wallace of Hemphill, and 46-yearTommie Ringo of
Pineland are all charged with engaging in criminal activity.
