Due to high levels of Enterococus bacteria, Jefferson County has issued beach advisories
for Sea Rim State Park and McFadden Beach. Water samples collected surpassed the 104
colonies that are considered unsafe by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Lamar
University will continue to monitor the water and based upon their results, further advisories
will be issued as necessary.
