Former Congressman Sentenced To 10 Years

Former southeast Texas Congressman Steve Stockman has been sentenced to 10 years in

federal prison. This past April, Stockman was convicted of 23 counts of fraud relating to

charitable donations. Stockman must also pay more than $1 million in restitution and serve

three years of supervised release once released from prison.  Stockman served in congress on two

separate terms.  In those two terms he represented most of southeast Texas including Jefferson,

Orange, Hardin, Newton, and Jasper counties.
