No charges will be filed in the case of a southeast Texas prison guard and a Houston woman
who accused him of groping her. Sylvia Hidalgo claimed the guard molested her as she
visited the Goodman Unit in Jasper earlier this year. Investigators said her story did not add
up, and asked the Jasper County grand jury to consider misdemeanor official oppression
charges against the officer and felony tampering charges against Hidalgo. The grand jury
has declined to indict either Hidalgo or the officer, who has since resigned.
