Police have released the name of a sanitation worker that was killed Monday afternoon when
the Waste Management truck he was on was struck from behind. The truck was traveling in
the 3300 block of MLK in Orange when a car ran into the back of it. 28-year old Derrick
Kane, of Beaumont, was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where
he died. The 18-year old driver of the car was transported to the hospital for treatment of her
injuries. The investigation into the crash continues.
