With the high school regular football season now over, BISD is ready to move forward with
the renaming of the district’s football stadium. During an August meeting, the board voted
to rename the stadium from the Carrol A “Butch” Thomas Educational Support Center to
Memorial Stadium. Work will begin this week to change the name. The cost the current
name from both sides is just over $28,000. Thanks to two anonymous donations of $25,000
each, the district will not incur any cost. Setex Construction was selected to perform the job.
