An agreement between the defense and prosecutors has led to a four year prison sentence for a
Lumberton woman convicted of murder. . 71-year old Elizabeth Taylor was convicted and
sentenced for the October 2017 shooting death of her common law husband, 58-year old Larry
Atwood. Atwood was shot inside a moving vehicle and pushed out of the vehicle onto Eastex
Freeway. Taylor, who claimed self defense, will be eligible for parole in two years. Taylor
could of faced up to life.
