A man convicted of murder in Orange County, only to have the conviction overturned,
is back on trial. 36-year old Kelvin Lee Roy is on trial for the February 2014 death of 16-year
old Alexandria Bertrand. She died when Roy’s vehicle crashed into the van she was a passenger
in on Main Street in Vidor. During the first trial, Roy’s girlfriend testified he deliberately crash
into the van. He was sentenced to 75 years in prison. The conviction was overturned when the
jury wasn’t informed they could of considered manslaughter over murder.
