Nederland police are investigating a shooting. A woman was shot in the chest and head
with a small caliber handgun at a home in the 1100 block of Detroit Avenue this morning.
She was transported to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas by private vehicle, then on
to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by ambulance where she was undergoing
surgery. Police are searching for the victim’s 48-year old estranged boyfriend as a suspect
in the shooting.
