Two are in custody following a Christmas Eve aggravated robbery. The victim was sitting
in his car in the 2800 block of Gulf when the suspects approached him and stole his
car at gunpoint. The stolen car was pulled over by Beaumont police about a hour later near
MLK and Hazel. A passenger, 17-year old Jamykel Phillips, of Beaumont, was arrested for
aggravated robbery and theft of a firearm. The 15-year old driver was transported to the
Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center. A third suspect, a 15-year old, was released to a
parent.
