Beaumont police are investing a double shooting. A 1-year old boy and his 24-year old
pregnant mother were shot at a home in the 8700 block of Newfield yesterday afternoon.
The child was airlifted to a Houston hospital, while his mother was transported to a Beaumont
hospital. Both were listed in stable condition. Preliminary investigation has revealed the
home invasion/shootings stemmed from possible narcotic activity. No arrests have been
made at this time.
