A man and a woman are jailed in Jefferson County accused of following a car from an ATM
and stealing a purse fromthe vehicle. Beaumont police, along with the Auto Theft Task
Force, conducted a surveillance operation yesterday. They observed a vehicle circling several
banks in the city. The suspects followed the victim from the Wells Fargo Bank on Dowlen
Road. When the victim exited her vehicle at the Steak-n-Shake, the suspects broke into the
victim’s car and stole her purse.21-year old Dexter Calvert Jackson, of Humble and 22-year
old Betty Faye Patterson, of Houston, were both transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
