Two Jailed Following Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on I-10 in Jefferson County this past weekend ended with two men going

to jail. A deputy stopped a car for speeding near Smith Road. The driver 30-year old Bryan Roy,

of Vidor, had an outstanding felony warrant for theft of a motor vehicle out of Louisiana. After

refusing consent to search his vehicle, a K-9 was called to the scene where a portable mini-vault

was located. Crystal meth, marijuana, Xanax, cocaine, and other illegal pills were found in the

vault. Roy and a passenger, 30-year old Joseph Cartwright, of Lake Charles, were both arrested

a numerous possession charges. Their bonds total more than $100,000.
