The DPS reports a Newton man was killed in a Friday night wreck. 47-year old Jessie James
Prince Jr. was traveling south on Highway 87, south of Newton, when he crossed the center
line and struck an oncoming pickup. Prince was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver
of the pickup, 24-year old Blake Breaux of Orange, and his passenger were not injured. The
wreck forced the highway to be closed for more than three hours.
