A Jefferson County grand jury has cleared a Port Arthur police officer in a fatal shooting.
The officer shot and killed 35-year old Shayne Lyons this past December. Lyons was
moving towards the officer with a machete in the 1600 block of Rev Raymond Scott Avenue
refusing to drop it when he was shot. Lyons died at the scene.
