A longtime Beaumont doctor and community leader has died from injuries he sustained when
he was struck by a vehicle was crossing a street in downtown Houston. Dr. Richard Levacy
died Wednesday at a Houston Hospital. Dr. Levacy, an ophthalmologist, had been practicing
for more than 30 years. Funeral arrangements are pending.
