Port Arthur police have made an arrest in connection with a homicide the occurred last
month. On February 2nd, the body of a woman was found in the 2100 block of Birch Ave.
She had died from blunt force trauma. Yesterday, police arrested 34-year old Daniel
Shackelford. He has been charged with murder. An investigation revealed that Shackleford
and the victim were in a relationship. Her name has not been released pending notification
of next of kin. Shackleford is being held on a $500,000 bond.
