TEXAS – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will conduct two separate crash reconstructions causing multiple lane closures on Interstate 10 and US 69 in Jefferson County, Texas beginning at 9:00a.m. on March 19, 2019. The Texas Department of Transportation will assist DPS with all traffic control devices and equipment.
First Crash Reconstruction:
Two eastbound traffic lanes of Interstate 10 on the Purple Heart Memorial Bridge (Neches River) will close from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Motorists traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 from Beaumont are urged to use the following detour: US 69 South in Beaumont to Highway 73 in Port Arthur to SH 87 in Bridge City back to IH 10 in Orange County.
Second Crash Reconstruction:
All southbound traffic lanes of US 69, near the Spurlock exit, will close from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This closure will include the feeder road. All traffic will be detoured at FM 3514.
Detoured motorists will be directed to use Twin City Highway or take FM 3514 to West Port Arthur Road.
Motorist traveling in the area of the crash reconstructions should drive cautiously, observe all warning signs and follow directions from law enforcement officers and other traffic control devices in the area. Expect delays. In the event of inclement weather, the crash reconstructions will be delayed.
