A man jailed following a brief standoff with Beaumont police. Police responded to a call of
family violence last night in the 5900 block of Chisum Trail in which the victim had been
choked. Police force their way into a home and found the suspect hiding in the garage. The
suspect held a knife to his throat threatening himself. He refused to drop the knife and police
used a taser to subdue home. After medical clearance, the suspect was transported to jail and
charged with aggravated assault/Family Violence.
