The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office wants to alert citizens about a national scam
that has hit Beaumont. The scammers have accessed the bulletins of various churches across the
city and are sending text messages or emails to purchase gift cards and asking citizens to forward
personal information to access the card. This is a scam. Do not send out any personal information.
