Jefferson County Indictments

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Houston teen for Engaging in Criminal Activity

18-year old Jasmine Howard is accused of taking part in the November 2018 robbery of

Computer Dimensions in Beaumont. A stolen vehicle from Houston was used to smash into

the front of the store, where more than $24,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. Video

shows four men entering the store. Police were able to track Howard as a suspect through her cell

phone.

A man that was shot while trying to break into a Beaumont home has been indicted by the

Jefferson County grand jury for burglary of habitation. 26-year old Cameron Casinger was

shot in the hip this past January as he was trying to force his way into a home in the 600 block

of Goodhue Road in Beaumont. The owner, who feared for the safety of his family, shot

Casinger.

A San Juan, Texas man has been indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury for manslaughter.

26-year old Eliud Ovalle is accused of driving recklessly this past November leading to a wreck

that killed Hipolito Sanchez. Sanchez died when his car was struck by Ovalle’s vehicle in the

2800 block of Highway 82 in Port Arthur. Witnesses says Ovalle was weaving from lane to

lane prior to the wreck.
