Obscene Word Found On STARR Test By Lumberton Student

The Texas Education Agency is apologizing after a Lumberton 5th grader found an obscene word

on the STARR test. The “F” word was in a passage with embedded images of a graffiti park.

Two obscene words were in a version of the reading exam. Not every student receives the same

test, so not all students saw it. The TEA issued a letter of apology yesterday.
