Christus Southeast Texas Health System has announced the closing of St. Mary’s Hospital in
Port Arthur. The facility is expected to close its doors in mid-July. The closing is expected to
impact approximately 150 jobs. St. Mary’s Hospital has been opened in Port Arthur for more
than 80 years. Staff will be able to apply for the 70 to 75 jobs that are available. Over the past
10 years, Christus has invested more than $10 million in thenew Christus Southeast Texas
Outpatient Center in Mid-County and another $2.5 million in the region’s only Level III NICU
at Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth.
