A Hardin County jury has ruled a woman serving a 20 year sentence for a wreck that killed a
pregnant woman and her teenage sister was competent during her 2015 manslaughter trial.
Crystal Boyette, who was convicted for the deaths of 15-year old Courtney Sterling, her 20-year
sister Connely Burns, and Connely’s unborn child, was seeking a new trial. In February of 2014,
Boyette was traveling at more than 100 miles an hour when she crashed into the back to the
victim’s vehicle in Lumberton.
