During its meeting last night, BISD board members appointed Thomas Sigee as the board’s
new president. He replaces A.B. Bernard, who stepped down two weeks ago, The board has
agreed to have to accept applications to fill the vacant District One position, previously held
by Bernard. The appointee must reside in District One for the remainder of the term, which
expires in May of 2021. The vacancy must be filled with 180 days.
