Beaumont Federal Grand Jury Hands Down Indictments

A federal grand jury in Beaumont has indicted a Beaumont man for being a felon in possession

of a firearm. 30-year old Taylor Graham Cozart was involved in a motorcycle accident this past

July. Drugs and a firearm were found in a backpack he possessed. He was a convicted felon

prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. The motorcycle he wrecked was stolen. He faces

up to 10 years in federal prison for possessing the gun.

A Florida woman arrested for hauling drugs through southeast Texas has been indicted by a

federal grand jury. 41-year old Shenita Denise Peterson was pulled over on a traffic stop on

I-10 in Beaumont this past August. 45 individual kilograms of cocaine were concealed inthe

door panels of her vehicle. She faces up to life in federal prison if convicted.

A Beaumont man faces up to 20 years in federal prison for bank robbery. 29-year old Clarence

Richard Griffin is charged with robbing the Beaumont Community Credit Union on MLK

Parkway on August 8th. A tracking device in the bag the teller placed the money in led police

to Griffin. Griffin was indicted yesterday.
