Beaumont police have released the name of a woman that was struck and killed by a vehicle
yesterday morning. 71-year old Emily Jane Williams was hit in the 2800 block of Washington
Blvd. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses say Williams had approached them in
a parking lot asking for money just before she was struck a killed. Williams last known address
was in Beaumont, but she was a transient at the time of her death.
