The closure of Rollover Pass on Bolivar Peninsula is stirring up the sort of opposition that at
least one man thinks is worth being arrested for. When work crews put up a fence around the
manmade channel, which has long been a popular fishing spot, 67-year-old Ted Vega refused to
leave. Vega was one of about 20 disgruntled fishermen protesting at the scene yesterday
afternoon. Galveston County sheriff's deputies arrested Vega. The state legislature ordered the
closure of the pass ten years ago, but it's been delayed for various reasons.
