A federal grand jury has indicted a Kemah man for attempted bank robbery. 58-year old Jimmy
James Mamoth is accused of attempting to rob the Texas First Bank in Hull, in Liberty County,
on September 27th. Witnesses say Mamoth was dressed in black, wearing a Halloween style
mask, and black gloves as carrying a small duffle bag. As the robber approached the bank,
an alert customer started honking their horn. Mamoth ran into a wooded area where he was
eventually arrested. He was also in possession of a Berretta 9mm pistol. Mamoth faces up to
20 years in federal prison if he is convicted.
A Beaumont couple has been indicted by a federal grand jury for federal tax violations. 68-
year old Dick Brocato and 65-year old Judith Brocato were named in a seven count
indictment charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States for purposes of
impeding government functions and six counts of making a false tax returns. Each face up to five
years for the conspiracy charge and up to three years each for the false return charges, if they are
convicted.
A man has been indicted by a Beaumont federal grand jury on child pornography violations. 39-
year old Brandon Michael Wyatt, of Beaumnt, is charged with possession of a child
pornography, distribution of child pornography, and receipt of child pornography. Wyatt faces
up to 10 years in federal prison if he is convicted.
