Beaumont police are investigating a fatal shooting involving an officer. Officer Carol
Riley tells us police responded to an alarm at Al Basha Mediterranean Restaurant in
the 2500 block of I-10 Eastjust past 5:30 this morning. When officers arrived, they
discovered force entry into the building. Once inside, the officer shot the suspect during an
encounter. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer was not hurt.
