The DPS is investigating a fatality wreck in Jasper County. Around 1:45 yesterday afternoon,
a car was traveling west at an unsafe speed on Highway 190 at FM 1408. The vehicle slid off
the highway and struck an 18-wheeler that was unoccupied and parked on the edge of the
road in the grass. The driver of the car, 54-year old Curtis Jackson of Newton, was transported
to the hospital where he died.
