A Beaumont police officer has been released from the hospital following a Monday night
wreck involving his police unit. The officer was responding to a call to assist a female officer,
who had been assaulted, when he lost control and wrecked on Calder, near Main. The police
unit ended up on its side. The officer is expected to make a full recovery.
