Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick and Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel have issued
24 hour curfews for everyone under the age of 18 that are not in school or are not accompanied
by a parent or guardian. Those under the age of 18 that are employed will be allowed to go to
work, but must go directly home from their place of employment.
One day after returning to school following spring break, Port Arthur ISD Superintendent Dr.
Mark Porterie has announced school in Port Arthur has been cancelled until further notice. You

A drive-thru COVID-19 testing site is expected to begin in Jefferson County as early as next
week. County Judge Jeff Branick says a batch of COVID-19 test kits have arrived in the county
are being used some hospitals in the county.
As part of the disaster declaration issued by Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames, numerous city
facilities have been closed. This includes the Beaumont Civic Center, Sterling Pruitt Center,
the Athletic Complex, Municipal Court, Tennis Center, and Community Centers.
The Julie Rogers Gift of Life has rescheduled its annual Champagne & Ribs. The new dateis
now Thursday, July 9th at the Beaumont Civic Center. Tickets and sponsorships will be
transferred to the new date.
