Tuesday: COVID-19 Update

+There are now six positive cases of COVID-19 in Beaumont. The Beaumont Health Department confirmed that number yesterday. All six a quarantined at their homes. Two cases, one in Lumberton and one in Silsbee, have been reported in Hardin County. Orange County and Chambers County each have one confirmed case.

+A drive through regional Covid-19 testing center is opening this morning in Jefferson County at the Jerry Ware Terminal at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport. Residents in Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, and Newton counties must call 409-550-2536 to be screened and given a tracking number to be tested. Anyone that does not have a tracking number will be turned away. The drive through center will be open Monday-Friday from 8:00 – 5:00. The number to call again is 409-550-2536

+The Sabine Area Chiefs’ Association has opened a website where citizens can go to one website to receive information updates in Jefferson, Hardin, and Orange Counties. The website is SETINFO.ORG. The website will be updated on a daily basis.

+The Beaumont City Hall has been closed to the public. Residents requesting open records can submit their requests via fax to the City Clerk’s Office at 409-880-370 or email clerk.orr@beaumonttexas.gov
