A stay at home order has been ordered for the city of Beaumont and is coming for Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, Jasper, and Newton counties. The order allows businesses deemed essential to remain open, including grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals and medical centers. To this point t there have been 13 confirmed cases in Southeast Texas. Eight in Beaumont, two in Lumberton, two in Silsbee, and one in Orange. There has been one COVID-19 related death. 54-year old Michael Westbrook, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday.
