Southeast Texas officials are asking citizens to be patient when dialing into the COVID-19
hotline. The center has been inundated with calls. There are 10 phone lines, once those lines
are busy, additional calls roll over to the queue allowing the Call Center to take 30 calls at once.
After that, you can’t get through. You are asked to be patient and continue to call. The 409-
550-2536 number is open 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday. Efforts are underway toturn that line
into a 24-hour service. Do not turn up to the test site if you have not received an appointment
and patient number from the Call Center. Those without a number will be turned away.
