Authorities have charged an Orange County man accused of firing shots and striking a
deputy’s patrol unit. Orange County deputies were called to the 7200 block of Highway 12
Wednesday afternoon in reference to a man with a gun. When they arrived shots were fired
by the suspect. 37-year old Joshua Sykes is charged with aggravated assault on a public
servant, which is a 3rd degree felony. He remains in the Orange County Jail. Nobody was injured.
