Texans will have a sales tax holiday for emergency preparation supplies from April 25th to the
27th. State Comptroller Glenn Hegar says the tax holiday also applies to items
bought online. Qualifying items include household batteries, flashlights, gas cans, generators
that cost less than three-thousand-dollars, hurricane shutters and emergency ladders. Not
included are batteries for cars or boats, chainsaws, plywood, camping gear, or masks or other
personal protection equipment to be used during the pandemic.
