Two people escaped injury following a fiery wreck on I-10 last night in Jefferson County. The
DPS reports an 18-wheeler was traveling east, near Smith Road, when a tire on the rig blew out.
The driver was able to move the truck to the shoulder of the road. The driver and a passenger
were able to get out of the truck before it burst into flames. The wreck forced the outside lane
and shoulder of the interstate to be closed for several hours.
